Trivia This was the first show for which Jolson got top billing on opening night.
Reviews Al Jolson had been too long absent from his public as its particular star. He was welcomed back with enthusiasm born of the hunger to see and hear him again. He was never more amusing, never acted with more evident enjoyment of the task for its own sake, never sang with such artless delight in the occupation. Nothing ever checks the wave of contagious magnetism that spreads through the theatre whenever he appears, and makes him and his audience the best of friends. (New York Sun)
